Before you can submit your freeware / shareware to Macware.org ftp site, it is required to register your email address (web-based addresses such as 'mac.com' are not acceptable) with our contributors list. Therefore, in the first place, email me your real name and valid email address with a message describing the software you would like to put up to the Macware.org ftp server. Naturally, anonymous mails are ignored.
NOTE: We do not accept any materials not for Mac OS. We only accept materials that meet with our guidelines described below. Some people sent me emails with no body message - how could I know what sort of materials they wanted to submit!
The registered contributors could submit files to Macware.org ftp server by sending an uuencoded message to <macgift@macware.org> with the "Subject: put file The_File_Name.sit.uu". It would be automatically uudecoded then be stored into the server as a file "The_File_Name.sit" - ie; without ".uu" suffix. The file you have sent would be placed in the proper directories in a few days.
If you would like to use BinHex rather than to uuencode, please add " .hqx " suffix instead of ".uu". Your message would be automatically converted to a macbinary in order to reduce the file-size, then be saved as a file "The_File_Name.sit".
* The_File_Name (filename of the compressed archive) must be made of only the characters A-Z, a-z, 0-9, and "_-." and may not begin with a "." or a "-". For example, "My_Archive_1.0.sit" is an acceptable filename, while "My Archive 1.0.sit" and "One's_Archive_1.0.sit" are not acceptable.
* Please do not forget to email me a note after you have put a file.
The registered contributors also could put compressed binaries into a directory on our another ftp server that should be specified on the email I would send you, and email the abstract to <ftpmaster@macware.org>. The file you've put would be manually moved to macware.org ftp site in a few days.
* Please do not forget to email me a note after you have put a file.
Let us know if you have a mind to put more than five files, we could prepare a dedicated 'by_author' directory for you.
Please do not submit commercial products or password protected packages.
Please do not submit materials that are sexually explicit or may otherwise be deemed as for adults only.
Please do not submit materials that are deemed as copyright infringements.
Please check your binaries for problems before posting them. Make sure that they are complete and virus-free.
We have the right to reject your submission and to delete any materials you have put into our server at any time without giving you notice.
For further information, please email to Tadashi Kawaguchi <ftpmaster@macware.org>.
